keeps the dietitian away! haha.
went to Alyson's Orchard today in Walpole, NH, which is pretty much a town away from Keene. it was a hugeeeeee orchard and there were lots of different apple varieties to choose from (note to self, honeycrisp still the best hands down, macouns not so much). it was a special event today so we got to try some fresh pressed apple cider and some apple pie from an apple pie contest. it was $12 for a small bag of pyo (way too many for me to eat), so i wandered and bought a buttercup squash (yum!).
oh, and the goat was really cute. stopped by Burdick's Chocolate in downtown walpole and got the iced dark hot chocolate. really rich, but the small was way too much for me. it's a really swanky looking restaurant that is supposed to be really good. also went on a wild goose chase for Boggy Meadow Farm Cheese. eventually found it and i bought some of their rosemary jack (yum!). they do the honor system there so it was a bit strange just leaving money in a money tin...
