i'm not sure if you know this, but i have a bit of a sweet tooth. like i can have sweets (of pretty much any kind) at any time of the day. and i can't remember the last time i went an entire day w/o a sweet (this is almost as serious as my pb addiction!).
don't worry, i did this damage on separate occasions but the sweets pics have been piling up so i need to share the love. the first cookie on the left is a chocolate chip truffle cookie or something along those lines from zeppelin & kaleidoscope in marlborough, nh. i was in marl to observe middle schoolers for my teen presentations in dec (so glad i decided to not be a teacher). i also grabbed lunch there for my advising mtg but didn't get a picture. i got the hearty wrap with tempeh and slaw on the side. the wrap was good, full of lots of greens and crunchy veggies, but i wasn't a fan of the slaw (you can get chips instead). they are an all vegetarian (some vegan options) cafe so it's a lot of fun for me. they have free wifi and a small grocery section w/ lots of interesting food and food goodies. the cookie was amazing, the inside chocolate was like a mix of fudge and brownie. got me through the second part of observing.
i grabbed the middle cookie along with my dinner at fritz friday night after working at stonewall farm fare. i've grabbed dinner here before with peg but it wasn't on a friday night! fridays they host a local musician who starts performing at 6:30. the place was packed and there was nowhere to sit so i actually ordered my dinner (i ordered off the munchkin menu- grilled cheese w/ the kiddie fries, other options available) to go. but a spot at the little bar opened up so i changed my order and listened to sistahs unplugged. the guy at the register said it helps to arrive at 6 in order to nab a seat. the cookie was good, too big, but that didn't stop me! although i would prefer the z & k cookie, but bread shed breads are delicious!
the last pic is a donut i grabbed hot off the presses on saturday morning while i was working at stonewall again. pat's apple cider donuts are the epitome of what cider donuts should taste like. so like and airy and not mind numbingly sweet. he was selling the donuts out of his food truck and i asked him if he had a location ever but he says he only works special big events like farm fare (poopers).
buttttt, in good news, homestead farms, which i explored with mimi, will be opening up again this friday!
also, i want to make this. the great thing about the winter season, all things pumpkin and gingerbread. the not so cool thing, a low of 6 degrees tonight! yikes!
